Mass to view on line

Mass is live streamed from the Holy Name, Jesmond. Visit their parish website to discover the times for the coming week.

When you are unable to celebrate Mass in Church, you may wish to make this act of spiritual communion:-

Lord Jesus, I believe that you are present in the most Blessed Sacrament. I love you above all things and I desire to receive you into my soul. Since I cannot now receive you sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace you as if you were already there and unite myself wholly to you. Never permit me to be separated from you. Amen

Please keep in your prayers:

  • all our parishioners who are sick, housebound or in hospital and,
  • all those whose memories we cherish at this time

Prayer for our Country

Almighty God, Ruler of all the peoples of the earth, forgive our shortcomings as a nation, purify our hearts to see and love the truth, give wisdom to our leaders, and steadfastness to our people, and bring us at last to that city of peace whose foundations are mercy, justice, and goodwill, of which you are the designer and builder; through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Update your Contacts’ list for our parishes

Please note that the parish email address has changed to felling.stpatrick@rcdhn.org.uk (an address which has already been used for some time). For a short period, the former “lineone.net” address will automatically forward emails to the “rcdhn.org.uk” address. Please modify your contacts’ list accordingly.

A most gracious “Thank you”

Fr. Patterson is extremely grateful to the family of the late Ronnie Johnson for inviting donations to St. Patrick’s Church on the occasion of his Funeral Mass. Donations received totalling £893.30 (including Gift Aided donations) have, at the family’s request, been put towards the cost of the new lectionaries. Thank you most sincerely.

A Night out with Family and Friends

We would like to invite you to a Family Night Out in St. Patrick’s parish centre on Friday, 19th July from 7pm. Admission is free and we ask you to bring your own refreshments. The proceeds of the evening will go towards the cost of replacing the “range/cooker” in the centre kitchen which is no longer functioning. Your weekly contributions to teas and coffees on Sunday mornings have already helped to raise £450.00. So do come along for a friendly night out.

All are welcome

Everyone is welcome to join us for our celebrations in St. Patrick’s and St. Alban’s churches. It is a joy to welcome people of other faiths or none who come to join us in worship. Currently, only baptised Catholic people are able to receive Holy Communion and we ask that when you approach the altar you extend your hands towards the minister who will place the sacred host in your hand which you should then consume immediately before returning to your place. If you are not a Catholic or are indisposed to receive Holy Communion, you are invited to come forward at the appropriate time and receive a blessing, indicating your desire by folding an arm across your chest.

If you are bringing your child(ren) up for a blessing at Holy Communion, would you please ensure they cross their arms over their chest before approaching the minister to avoid any possible confusion. Thank you so much.

School News from Mrs Robinson

Dear Parishioners,

I know you continue to pray for us each week but I ask for special prayers particularly on Tuesday and Thursday next week. This is when we will be holding our Sports Days and we would really like two rain-free days! A bit of sunshine would be lovely too. Thursday is also our Summer Fair led by the Friends of St Alban’s. You are all very welcome to attend from 3.30pm – 5.30pm at school.

Farewell

We send our prayers and best wishes to Deacon Tom Rooke who is retiring from his ministry in Corpus Christi, Bensham. Tom occasionally supported Fr. Patterson over the years for which he is most grateful. We wish Tom and his wife, Mary, a long and happy retirement.

Are you new to our Parishes?

If you have recently moved into Bill Quay, Felling, Pelaw, Heworth, Windy Nook and the surrounding area you are more than welcome to come along to worship with us in either St. Alban’s Church, Queen Victoria Street, Pelaw or St. Patrick’s Church on the High Street in Felling. Mass times are Saturday evening at 6pm in St. Alban’s and 10am on a Sunday in St. Patrick’s.

If you would like to offer your talents to the parish – and we all have God given talents – then please approach Fr. Patterson or any of our welcomers and provide us with your details. You would also be most welcome to join us for refreshments after Sunday Mass in St. Patrick’s parish centre which is located directly underneath the Church. We look forward to seeing you.
