Mass to view on line

Mass is live streamed from the Holy Name, Jesmond. Visit their parish website to discover the times for the coming week.

When you are unable to celebrate Mass in Church, you may wish to make this act of spiritual communion:

Lord Jesus, I believe that you are present in the most Blessed Sacrament. I love you above all things and I desire to receive you into my soul. Since I cannot now receive you sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace you as if you were already there and unite myself wholly to you. Never permit me to be separated from you. Amen

Please keep in your prayers:

  • all our parishioners who are sick, housebound or in hospital
  • all those whose memories we cherish at this time and,
  • James Kilty and Ronald Johnson who have died. May they rest in the peace of the Risen Lord.

Update your Contacts’ list for our parishes

The General Election

The Bishops’ Conference have created a webpage on their website with information about the issues which they feel are important to Catholics: You can access it by clicking Bishops’ Conference

In addition, CAFOD together with the SVP have provided a guide for Catholic voters

In the Lord’s Prayer, Jesus teaches us to pray each day, ‘your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven’. Why not pray this simple and profound prayer during the days leading up to the General Election

“May God’s will be done in our nation and in God’s world.”

New Lectionary for Mass

From the first Sunday of Advent, 1st December, 2024, the translation of the Scripture Readings for Mass and the celebration of the Sacraments is changing. The new Lectionary will use the English Standard Version – Catholic Edition of the Bible and the Abbey Psalter for the Psalms.  Each parish will need to purchase a new set of Lectionaries which is composed of four volumes at a cost of £695.00 per set.

In order to benefit from a 15% discount for St. Alban’s and St. Patrick’s, Fr. Patterson has ordered and paid for a set for each parish at the cost of £1,181.50 – (£590.75 per parish). Should anyone wish to contribute towards the cost of these Lectionaries, please place your donation in an envelope marked “Lectionary” and deposit it in one of the boxes at the church doors over the next few weeks

Donations received to date, from both churches, amount to £70.00. Thank you.

A Liturgy Day for Readers

School News from Mrs Robinson

At this time of year, we begin preparing our school children for change as they move into new classes. New starters for Nursery and Reception class have visited, all children have spent the morning with their new teacher in their new classroom, and our Y6 children will all have been to their new secondary school for a couple of days. This week, we invite parents into the Year 2 classroom to pray with their children as they ‘Jump into the Juniors’. Children always look forward to growing up and getting older, and being in the Juniors (or Key Stage 2 as it is now called) is a big event. Please continue to pray for all of our children as they grow and experience change in their lives.

A call to our parents
